Congratulations on your acceptance to Florida Atlantic University!

The nonrefundable admissions tuition deposit is for admitted freshman students only.

All admitted freshmen must confirm their intention to enroll and secure their space in the class with a $200.00 nonrefundable deposit. Your space will be released to another applicant if the deposit is not received.

The deposit is applied to your account when you enroll to be used toward your tuition and fees. It will be forfeited if you do not enroll.

Financial Hardship: The Office of Admissions will make arrangements to waive the tuition deposit if you have demonstrated financial need. Generally, if an ACT or SAT fee waiver was used for your FAU application fee or if you are eligible for a Pell Grant, you will receive a tuition deposit waiver. However, you must confirm your intention to enroll before the deadline.

Please note: The tuition deposit is separate from the Department of Housing and Residential Life deposit.

The deadline to submit your deposit and confirm your enrollment with the freshman class is:

Fall/Summer Term     May 1st

Spring Term     December 1st

*All admitted freshman students are required to submit the tuition deposit with the exception of applicants who received an SAT or ACT fee waiver used to apply to FAU. The tuition deposit is separate from the residence hall prepayment required by the Department of Housing and Residential Live.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Admissions Tuition Deposit

    • What is the Tuition Deposit?
Florida Atlantic University now requires a $200.00 non-refundable tuition deposit from all admitted first-time freshmen students in order to confirm enrollment in the freshman class. The tuition deposit is applied directly toward your tuition and fees for your first semester at FAU.
    • Why do I need to pay the Tuition Deposit?
The tuition deposit allows the University to more accurately report new student class data to more efficiently plan for class offerings and student resources in the future. It also encourages incoming freshman students to examine their college choice before completion of their senior year in high school which increases their selection in housing and classes.

    • What happens to the $200 once I pay it?
The $200 is applied to your tuition and fees for the semester in which you are admitted to FAU. It will be forfeited if you pay the deposit and choose not to enroll at FAU for that term, or if you submit a change of entry request for a different term.

    • What if I have financial need?
If your federal financial aid needs analysis indicates that you are eligible for a Pell Grant, you may qualify for a tuition deposit waiver. If you use an ACT or SAT fee waiver for your FAU application fee, you may make arrangements with the office of Admissions to waive the tuition deposit. Student with a tuition deposit waiver must still confirm their intention to enroll before the deadline by submitting the Tuition Deposit Form.

Question regarding the Tuition Deposit may be directed to the Office of Admissions at admissions@fau.edu
