FAU Model UN Delegation Wins Fourth Award

The Model United Nations delegation from Florida Atlantic University recently received an Honorable Mention Award for its participation in the 2010 National Model United Nations simulation in New York City.  This is the fourth consecutive award for the FAU Model UN program, which was established in 1997 in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.

The New York conference is the largest and most prestigious simulation of the UN, with more than 5,000 students from more than 300 universities representing 27 countries competing.  FAU represented Haiti on ten UN committees in 26 hours of committee sessions.

The FAU Model UN program is generously supported by the Schmidt Family Foundation and the United Nations Association of the Palm Beaches.  For more information about FAU’s department of political science and the Model UN program, call 561-297-3212.
