FAU Fort Lauderdale Campus

The Fort Lauderdale campus in downtown Fort Lauderdale (comprised of the Reubin O'D Askew Tower and the FAU/Broward College Higher Education Complex) takes advantage of its unique urban setting to serve as a center for FAU programs in creative industries and urban affairs.

The campus is part of Fort Lauderdale's evolving, dynamic urban community and provides a laboratory for students in business, computer arts, graphic arts, multimedia communication, architecture, urban and regional planning and public administration.

Several research centers are also located in the nine-story Askew Tower, as well as the Graduate School of Business, the MFA program in computer arts, computer labs, classrooms and conference space. The tower is also the site of the Second Avenue Studio, an exhibition space for FAU and the Broward community. It features the work of students, faculty and selected guest artists.

The Higher Education Complex is the headquarters of the College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs, the Broward campuses administrative office and the South Florida Executive Office of Governor Charlie Crist.

The building also houses a student activities center, architecture studios and MBA classrooms. It also features solar panels on the roof, which reduce the building's energy costs.

Serving Our Diverse and Growing Community

Anthony Abbate, AIA, NCARB

Delivering the best teachers, preparing executives to lead successful companies, inspiring students to use their education to make a difference in the community and playing a key role in solving the affordable workforce housing dilemma are just a few of the ways FAU is shaping the future of Broward County.

Our community is one of the most diverse in the nation, giving us a rich and exciting culture as well as presenting complex challenges. FAU is ideally positioned to help tackle these challenges.

We're working hard every day to connect with leaders in our community and thus ensure that FAU graduates are prepared to fill needed jobs, are motivated to find innovative solutions to economic and social problems and are prepared to lead our industries, government and educational system into the future. Please visit this website to learn more about our campus and services, and contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mr. Anthony Abbate
