Beginner SwimDays Monday & Wednesday

Description
For participants who are not comfortable or become easily exhausted in the water. The instructor will begin by teaching water adjustment, proper body alignment and use simple, safe drills to encourage proper technique. A large portion of this class will be focused on developing vital stroke mechanics critical to learning the most fundamental freestyle stroke. Classes will be tailored to additional wants and needs of the participants.
Intermediate Swim

Description
Intermediate Swim is for the adjusted swimmer who wants to advance their swimming skills. The general goals of this class include improved technique, and proficiency in basic and advanced swimming strokes, and the ability to use water as a medium for recreation and fitness.

Swim Workout consists of cardio endurance training, strength training, and technique work. Two one-hour sessions per week will allow time for progression through a variety of strokes with the incorporation of form and conditioning drills. Some days will focus more on technique and instruction, while others will challenge your fitness and strength. In addition, participants will work on breathing techniques to increase lung capacity.

Description
Beginner classes are for everyone. No Experience necessary. In this class you will develop proper body posture and gain flexibility and strength. You will learn step by step the basic belly dance moves and take home a short choreograph to put it all together. Also, students will get an understanding of the musical rhythms with the use of Finger Cymbals.
Intermediate Belly Dancing

Description
At the Intermediate level, students will begin to layer movements. They will learn challenging combinations and understand more about props used in belly dance such as Finger Cymbals, veil, and cane. They will also be familiarized with other styles of belly dance and work more on improvisation. In this class students will develop their own individual style of dance.

Capoiera

Description
Capoeira is a unique Afro-Brazilian sport which combines elements of dance, acrobatics and martial arts into one fluid, graceful game. Capoeira movements are marked by fluid acrobatic play, feints, take downs, and extensive use of leg sweeps and kicks. This class will teach continuous rhythmic movements that increase core strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination, providing a culturally creative way to get a fun total body workout!
