Program Overview

The Master of Nonprofit Management degree program was designed as a professional degree to meet the unique needs of the nonprofit sector. It is open to pre-service students, as well as managers and leaders in human services, fine and performing arts, cultural, educational, community development, religious, environmental and other nonprofit organizations. The curriculum recognizes the special concerns of nonprofit organizations in such areas as: management of volunteers and professionals; resource development and fundraising; governance by volunteer boards of trustees and directors; management of multiple sources and types of funding; unique legal and regulatory issues; special values of service, community and charity; and the entrepreneurial character of nonprofit leadership.

Applying for the Master of Nonprofit Management degree consists of 5 simple steps:

  1. Completing the Graduate Application at the Graduate College website
  2. Sending Your Official Transcripts
  3. Submitting Your Test Scores
  4. Enclosing Application Fee
  5. Maintaining Contact With Us

If you are considering applying to FAU, we recommend reading through each of the steps, and the detailed explanation of each step before starting with the application process.

Once you have been accepted for admission into the university, it is strongly recommeded that you contact your academic advisor and faculty advisor to assist you before you register for classes. Contacts for this program can be found below.

Step 1: Complete the Application

You can submit your application online.

Note: All materials in the next few steps must be submitted together with your application.

Step 2: Send Your Transcripts

Request that an official transcripts from the Registrar of each college or university you have attended (except FAU) be sent directly to the Graduate College at FAU..

If FAU was your last school attended and you were a degree-seeking student, it is likely that your transcripts are on record.You will be notified if they are not.

Step 3: Submit Test Results

Each applicant should have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours of work attempted at the undergraduate level.

An international student is required to achieve a minimum score of 550 (CBT-213) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Applicants who do not have a GPA of 3.0 are encouraged to submit a 500-word writing sample, stating why obtaining the MNM is important to their career objectives and any other supporting documents including GRE scores.

Step 4: Enclose Application Fee

The application fee of $30 must be in U.S. currency. Fee can be paid by credit card, check, or money order. Check or money order should be made payable to Florida Atlantic University and must be drawn on a U.S. bank; U.S. postal money orders, international money orders or U.S. traveler's checks are acceptable.
