FAU Presents Debate Focusing on Constitutional Amendment on Marriage
WHAT: FAU’s School of Social Work in the College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs will host a debate focusing on Constitutional Amendment 2, the Constitutional Amendment on Marriage, a topic Floridians will vote on in November.
WHEN: Tuesday, October 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
WHERE: Live Oak Pavilion Student Union FAU’s Boca Raton campus 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton
COST: Free and open to the public

The purpose of the debate, also hosted by the Acolyte Student Association and the Social Work Alumni Society, is to present different perspectives on the constitutional amendment on marriage and to engage social work students in a civil discussion of the issues, helping participants gain an understanding of the diverse values and beliefs that people bring to the issues. Topics of discussion include what the amendment means, the legal and social impacts of passing the amendment, and the legal and social impacts of rejecting the amendment.
