FAU’s Wind Ensemble in Concert
BOCA RATON (April 13, 2005) – Florida Atlantic University’s School of the Arts presents a concert with the FAU Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kyle Prescott, on Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. General admission is $10 and guests may buy one ticket and receive one for free. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with ID.
The first half of the concert will include “Overture” by Colas Breugnon Dimitri Kabelevsky, “Four Scottish Dances” by Malcolm Arnold, “Chant Funéraire” by Gabriel Fauré, and “Old Wine in New Bottles” by Gordon Jacob. After a short intermission, the ensemble will present “Marche” by Hongroise Berlioz, “Chorale and Alleluia” by Howard Hanson, “Cloudburst” by Eric Whitacre, and “Slava!” by Leonard Bernstein.
FAU’s Wind Ensemble includes more than forty woodwind players, brass players and percussionists. Prescott, who will be directing the band, has been at FAU since the fall of 2004.
