FAU Names Andra Boehning Coordinator of Development and Alumni Relations for Treasure Coast Campus

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (April 27, 2005) -- Florida Atlantic University recently named Andra "Annie" Boehning director of development and alumni relations for the Treasure Coast campus. Serving as a member of University Advancement, Boehning comes to FAU with 12 years of experience in fundraising, management, marketing and communications. In her new position, Boehning will focus her efforts in the Port St. Lucie area.

Boehning's most recent position was at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, as assistant director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS). Focusing on strategic growth and image building, Boehning successfully helped position CERIAS as a world-renowned information security research center. She came to CERIAS in 1998 as manager of external relations. In this capacity, she was responsible for a variety of initiatives within the parameters of communications and media relations. Boehning's earliest job at Purdue University was director of development for the department of computer sciences, a position that she was in for three years.

Boehning previously held marketing and communications positions at the Wabash Center for people with special needs and at Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and communications from Indiana State University and received specialized training at the Indiana School of Philanthropy.

"We are most fortunate to have Annie head FAU development activities in our expanding northern-most service area. Her skills in marketing and communications are only matched by her proven ability as a fundraiser," said Ann Paton, vice president for University Advancement. "Keeping pace with the rapidly growing area of Port St. Lucie, FAU is reaching out with innovative new programs and exciting opportunities for higher education."
