The services offered by the Associate Vice President (AVP) and Dean of Student's Office are as follows but are not limited to:
Deceased Student Protocol: The AVP and Dean of Students is responsible for managing the University's response to a deceased student.Exceptional Circumstances / Medical Withdrawals Advising: Students who find it necessary to withdraw from the University (all classes) after the Official Drop/Add Period for specific exceptional circumstances and medical reasons.
Student Handbook: The AVP and Dean of Students is responsible for managing the Student Handbook Website and distributing the Student Handbook to students.
Student Advocate: The AVP and Dean of Students is a strong advocate for students who are experiencing various situations at the University.
Committees: The AVP and Dean of Student Affairs Office oversees three standing committees:
- Medical Advisory Committee
- Student Crisis Awareness Committee
- Leadership Committee
Reference / Discipline Clearance: The AVP and Dean of Student Affairs provides reference letters and discipline clearance when a student is transferring to other schools, militarily or government assignments.
