Biosafety Cabinet
Inspection and Certification
Each Biological Safety Cabinet must have a certificate of inspection that should include, but not be limited to, the date of certification, the name of the person who performed the inspection, and the date for the next inspection. Certification of the biosafety cabinet must be done annually, whenever relocated, or if a problem is suspected.
The inspection must be performed by properly trained and authorized personnel. Currently, EH&S staff do not have the proper credentials to inspect and certify Biological Safety Cabinets.
