FAU is Taking the 'LEED'

FAU is home to one of the region’s first gold-level certified "green" facilities in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Building and will be the first university in the state to construct a platinum-level, LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) engineering building as part of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The building will be the centerpiece of an effort by the college and the University to provide hands-on education and information to the public and to students at all levels about the environmental and energy issues that are so vital to the future of our country and the world. It will showcase the college’s ongoing teaching and research efforts related to environmental and alternative energy systems, including photovoltaics, hydrogen fuel cells, renewable energy from the ocean, and diverse activities in environmental engineering and design/construction of sustainable infrastructure.
