Fraternity and Sorority Life Assessment

In the fall of 2007, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (a component of the Division of Student Affairs) contracted Dr. Tom Jelke of t.jelke solutions, inc. to evaluate and assess the Florida Atlantic University Greek community.

He provided recommendations to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the community.  Formal and informal interviews were conducted with many Greek and non-Greek students, administrators, alumni, advisors, and other key stakeholders.  In addition, pertinent documents including policies and procedures, promotional materials, constitutions, and statistical data about the Greek community were analyzed.

He suggested forming a committee comprised of students, faculty, and staff to review each recommendation and discuss if, when, and how they would like to proceed with implementation. This was the first step toward creating a 5 – year a strategic plan for the fraternity and sorority community at Florida Atlantic University.
