Catherine S. Meschievitz coordinates the management of study abroad and exchange programs for students and faculty, negotiates and manages international institutional agreements for FAU and our overseas partners, and supports the faculty and colleges in the advancement of their strategic priorities for international education.  She chairs the FAU Council on International Education with faculty representatives of all FAU colleges, and represents the university as the liaison to state, regional, national, and international organizations on international education matters.

Dr. Meschievitz has a PhD. in Modern South Asian History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1986) and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School (1979).   Dr. Meschievitz has conducted research and written on informal justice, disputing, and legal history in India, Europe and the U.S.  She studied and conducted research in India with grants from the University of California-Berkeley, the Fulbright Doctoral Dissertation Program, the Social Science Research Council, and the American Institute of Indian Studies.  Dr. Meschievitz has also studied comparative legal cultures in Europe as a visiting scholar at the University of Bremen.  Dr. Meschievitz is a member of the International Studies Association, the Association of Asian Studies, NAFSA, the Association of International Education Administrators, and the Wisconsin State Bar.
