The Associate Vice President & Dean of Students office exists to assist students in meeting their educational goals by offering assistance with academic matters, leadership and student development opportunities, through individualized advising.
- That a student receives proper assistance and or a referral when an extenuating circumstance prevents a student from succeeding academically.
- That leadership, growth and student development opportunities are fostered through an active Greek community, founded on the principles of scholarship, brotherhood / sisterhood, leadership and service.
- That student accountability and personal responsibility be upheld through the Student Code of Conduct.
- That through advising and sound financial decisions student government leaders will uphold their mission to offer services and programs for betterment of the student body.
Student services coordinated through this office include Housing and Residential Life, the Student Union, Student Involvement & Leadership, Counseling, Campus Recreation, Dr. Weppner Volunteer Center, United Campus Ministries, Multicultural Affairs, New Student and Owl Family Programs, Office for Student Media, Student Conduct, the Office for Students with Disabilities, Greek Life, Student Government, Career Development Center, International Students and Scholar Services, and Student Government Accounting and Budget Office. In addition, this office handles student conduct, academic petitions and exceptional circumstance withdrawals and edits the student handbook and student success planner.

Office of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Broward Campuses
The Associate Dean is the chief administrative officer for student affairs on the Broward campuses. The student affairs office in Broward is an advocate for all students, and available to help with problem-solving, information and advice. The Office of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs handles general information, health immunizations , parking/traffic citations and issues of the student code of conduct.

Career Development Center
The Broward Career Development Center (BCDC) provides career decision-making education and services for all students, alumni, faculty, and employers. The preparation for professional careers is a crucial part of the educational process at FAU, therefore the BCDC’s philosophy is “to empower students with the skills needed to manage their careers.” The Center serves as a liaison between college and the world of work, providing students with a wide array of career events and activities including: career guidance, employment advisement, etiquette training and professional image consultation.

Counseling & Psychological Services
The Counseling & Psychological Services provides services to students whose personal difficulties and problems interfere with their academic adjustment. The center helps students with social, emotional and academic concerns in a sensitive, caring and confidential manner.
We are located on the Davie campus, 2912 College Avenue, Student Union #206. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m; additional evening appointments are also available. To set up an appointment you can come by or call (954) 236-1210. Services are free of charge for our students.
Office of Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Aid offers a comprehensive program of student financial aid including grants, loans, scholarships and part-time employment. Assistance is awarded in compliance with state, federal and university regulations on the basis of financial need and academic merit. Financial aid counselors are on campus to assist you Monday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Office for Students with Disabilities
FAU is committed to making the University facilities and services accessible and useful to students with disabilities. The goal of the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) is to support students with disabilities in their pursuit of equity and excellence in education. Auxiliary aids and human support services are available to help meet the needs of students with varying disabilities who are taking classes on the Broward campuses (Davie, Fort Lauderdale and Sea Tech at Dania Beach).

Office of Student Involvement & Leadership
The Office of Student Involvement & Leadership (SIL) is dedicated to promoting a supportive, creative learning environment by developing extra-curricular activities and a campus community through a diversity of high quality, student-centered programs and services. The SIL oversees these programs and services at the Dania Beach, Davie and Fort Lauderdale campuses. The office provides direct advisement to the Broward Student Government (BSG), the Broward Graduate Council (BGC), the Council of Student Organizations (COSO), Owl Productions, the Broward campuses Program Board, and the program area of Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (S.A.V.I.). For more information on each of these program areas and how to become involved, please see the Broward Student Government section of the Student Handbook.
The Office of Student Involvement & Leadership also coordinates the Transfer Orientation program for new FAU students. The program facilitates the transition into FAU by introducing new students to the various programs, services and educational opportunities offered through the institution. The program also serves to initiate the integration of new students into the campus community.
Also under the management this office is the Davie Student Union and the Student Activity Center located on the Fort Lauderdale campus. The Davie Student Union opened in Spring 2008 and serves as the center of campus life in Davie, as a 20,000 square-foot, student-oriented facility, housing a variety of programs and services such as Student Government, the university bookstore, food services, health & counseling services, a student lounge, a computer lounge, multipurpose space, and wireless networking. The Student Activity Center in Higher Education Complex at the Fort Lauderdale campus also houses programs and services offered in a formal and an informal gathering place for student groups to meet and interact. Office of Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides support services and learning resources that will enable Broward students to achieve their educational goals, and celebrate multiculturalism within the Broward Community. Support services include free one-on-one peer tutoring and test prep, academic progress reviews, the University of Success Discussion Group and the Book Loan Program. Multicultural awareness and education programs include Hispanic Heritage Week and Black History Month events; and a Cultural Awareness Dinner. The office also assists International Students and participates in recruitment and orientation activities.

Student Health Services
The mission of Student Health Services is to provide and promote quality healthcare and wellness education and resources that are essential for the academic and personal success of members of our diverse University community. Student Health Services upholds the rights of students, including the rights of privacy and confidentially.
The new, on-campus Student Health Services (SHS), opening Fall 2008, is staffed by a board-certified advanced registered nurse practitioner to serve your healthcare and health education needs.
SHS is funded by the Student Health Fee, part of each student’s tuition. There is a $5.00 charge for all medical office visits at Student Health Services. Laboratory and other diagnostic tests and treatments needed to assist in diagnosis and follow-up are available at reduced fees.

Student Wellness Center
Train Your Mind - Train Your Body
The Broward Student Wellness Center is located on the west side of the Davie Campus next to BC’s building 11. The BSWC is a 3,400 square-foot, fully functional workout facility equipped with state of the art cardio and strength equipment. The BSWC also organizes health promotion events and activities for the Broward Campuses.
All currently enrolled FAU students get a FREE membership. Memberships for faculty, staff, and family are also available.

"Relax at the Davie Student Union"
Located on the Davie campus in Broward county, the 20,000-square-foot Student Union houses offices for Student Government and advisors, a student lounge with computer room, a large multipurpose room for events, health and counseling services, Steve’s Espresso Café, and a 5,800-square-foot University bookstore in partnership with Barnes & Noble College Bookstores.

Volunteer Services Center
The Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service (WCCES) at Florida Atlantic University is located on Boca Raton Campus and has representatives on the Northern and Broward campuses. The mission of the WCCES is to develop partnerships between the university and community, providing service opportunities to faculty, staff and students; and to promote the link between the curriculum and service fostering civic awareness. The vision of the WCCES is to foster future leaders through civic responsibility and community service.
The WCCES assists both local and national nonprofit organizations by providing them with the volunteers needed to accomplish their goals. Our efforts are shared with Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI), a student government organization. As a volunteer, you begin to make a difference in your community, gain experience in your career field, explore careers, and meet new people. The WCCES also facilitates the opportunity for faculty and students to combine coursework with the needs of the community through academic service-learning courses. These courses are designed to enrich the learning experience through hands-on activity and by teaching civic responsibility. Inquire with the WCCES for courses designated as academic service-learning. Volunteer hours and academic service-learning hours served at any nonprofit agency while as an FAU student may be recorded on a student’s transcript through the WCCES.
