Heritage Park Towers (HPT)
Envision yourself taking a break between classes to stop at your residence hall. Before going home, you decide to take care of a bank deposit at FAU’s branch of Bank Atlantic and grab a coffee from Starbuck’s. You breathe a sigh of relief knowing that your hall, Heritage Park Towers, is located adjacent to these campus venues. On your way into the hall, you run into some of your floor neighbors and chat for awhile before going to your room.
This is life in Heritage Park Towers, a suite-style residence hall for both freshmen and upperclassmen. Suites are composed of fully furnished double and single bedrooms, and in most cases, four residents share a bathroom. Each bedroom is equipped with unlimited access Ethernet connections and basic cable television service. Wireless Ethernet access is also offered throughout the building. Heritage Park Towers also offers a 24 hour desk operation, academic support center, community kitchen, classroom, computer lab, multi-purpose room with large screen TV, laundry facilities, study lounges and conference room.
The North Tower of HPT is the home to the Living-Learning Communities at FAU. This unique program combines classroom learning with opportunities to put education into practice. Space in this program is limited, so it’s important to apply early.
It’s up to you to make the most of your college experience. One of the best predictors of college success is how involved you are and how much you feel a part of the campus community. In one of the FAU Living-Learning Communities, you’ll not only make connections at FAU, but you’ll excel while you’re doing it! The LLC is a residential encounter that brings what happens in the classroom to your real-world experiences and vice versa. You will live on the same floor with students who have similar interests or majors, and you’ll take courses with others in the community. As a resident in one of the LLCs, you’ll also be offered additional programming and academic support related to the needs of your floor.
As part of a living-learning community you will:
- Make friends, build relationships and create connections with others at FAU
- Attend workshops, events and study groups designed to help you be successful in college
- Develop a community of learning with your peers, faculty and staff in and out of your classes
