In an effort to help our Broward community, IRM-BCS donated 21 televisions to the non-profit organization, Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. (BPHI). These 21 TVs were originally located across our instructional facilities, and were progressively replaced by high-end projectors.
Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. was founded in 1997 as a response to the growing number of homeless people in Broward County.
They manage the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center/Huizenga Family Campus (Center), a 57,000 square foot, 200 bed, residential emergency shelter where more than 12,000 men, women and families have received assistance since the Center first opened its door in 1999.
The facility provides emergency shelter and comprehensive services to individuals and families, for periods up to 60 days. During that time, users have the opportunity to stabilize, engage, and acquire the personal tools necessary to break the cycle of homelessness. Furthermore, the Center provides a safe and nurturing environment designed to highlight alternatives to the street and provide each resident with the means to reacquire health, housing and a sustaining income.
BPHI gets its funds from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, the Florida Department of Children & Families, the North Broward Hospital District, the Broward County School Board, the United Way of Broward County and public grants and private contributions.
