DAVID POSNACK FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The David Posnack Family Foundation Scholarship is awarded each year to a student seeking a degree in Jewish Studies. Four guidelines govern the award of the scholarship:

  • Scholastic ability, demonstrated either by a minimum GPA of 3.5 and/or scholarly excellence in course work;

  • A commitment to some aspect of Jewish communal service, including education and teaching;

  • Nomination by faculty or peers or self-nomination, with supporting data to include a statement of goals, record or transcript, sample of work, and at least one faculty letter of recommendation;

  • Evaluation by the Jewish Studies B.A. Committee.
  • Application deadline: TBA

NATHAN AND MARION CROSBY SCHOLARSHIP
There are two Nathan and Marion Crosby Scholarship awards:

  • The Nathan and Marion Crosby Holocaust and Judaic Library Collections Endowment Scholarship is $500. The scholarship will be offered to an entering student who plans to major in Jewish Studies. The student is required to have a 3.5 high school grade point average and to acknowledge receipt of the award.

  • The Nathan and Marion Crosby Scholarship Fund in Holocaust and Judaic Studies is $500.00. The scholarship will be offered to a Jewish Studies major, giving preference to a student who is a descendant of a victim of the Holocaust. The recipient is required to acknowledge receipt of the award.

  • Application deadline: TBA

FRANK M. MERVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR JUDAIC STUDIES
$500.00

  • Junior or Senior standing, at least a 3.0 GPA and/or scholarly excellence in course work.

  • A commitment to some aspect of Jewish communal service, including education and teaching.

  • Nomination by faculty, peer or self; supporting data including a statement of goals, record of transcript and at least one faculty letter of recommendation.

  • Evaluation by the Jewish Studies B.A. Committee.

    Application deadline: TBA

RADDOCK EMINENT SCHOLAR CHAIR ESSAY CONTEST
Open to all currently enrolled FAU undergraduate students, $750.00-First Prize, $500.00-Second Prize

  • Essays may treat any aspect of the Holocaust and its contemporary implication: ethical, moral, theological, historical, literary, philosophical, sociological and psychological themes.

  • Papers may have originated as course work or be independent of such.

  • Nominations by faculty or peers or self-nomination.

  • 15 typewritten pages, double spaced.

  • Winners will be determined by the Jewish Studies B.A. Committee.

  • Application deadline: TBA
