- Sight-singing and ear-training evaluation and placement exam
- Theory evaluation and placement exam
- Sight-reading evaluation

- Opportunity for 15-minute private evaluation with member of voice faculty
- Keyboard proficiency evaluation
- Two selections in contrasting styles (pianists: at least one by memory)
- All scales in major keys (two octaves, ascending and descending)
- Sight-singing and ear-training evaluation and placement exam
- Theory evaluation and placement exam
- Music history evaluation
- Sight-reading evaluation
- Keyboard proficiency evaluation
- Two Pieces of contrasting styles (latin, swing, ballad) including one jazz standard (no original or rock songs; two jazz standards preferred)
- 12 Bar Blues in F or Bb
- Melody
- Chords
- Improvised solo
- Sight Reading
- Guitar
- Consistent melody by itself at any tempo
- Comp the chord progression
- Bass
- Consistent melody by itself at any tempo
- Walking bass line over chord changes
- Guitar
Scholarship awards are based on performance of repertoire alone. Theory, sight-singing/ear-training and history evaluations will not be factored when awarding scholarships.
