Michael Georgi is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the Chair of Management Accounting and Control which is part of the faculty Business, Economic and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany. Upon graduation from business studies at the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2011, Michael attended a PhD Program at TU Dortmund focusing research mainly on Pricing for Public Purchase. Moreover, Mr. Georgi possesses teaching experience in Management Accounting and has conducted research projects in the field of Incentive Systems and Marketing-Accounting.

During the summer semester 2014 Michael joined the team of the Public Procurement Research Center of Florida Atlantic University (“PPRC at FAU”) in Boca Raton, Florida as a visiting scholar. Besides the general exchange of methodological and teaching skills within workshops and lectures, the main focus of his tenure consists of comparative studies within the field of public procurement and pricing regulation between Germany and the United States of America. Additionally, under the PPRC Umbrella, Mr. Georgi joins the PPRC Academic Advisory Boards focusing on Incentive and Market Mechanisms and Defense Industry/Veterans. Within this capacity, Michael joins fellow researchers from around the world with the focus on discussing current thematic issues while simultaneously committing to co-authoring research articles for peer-reviewed publications.

TU Dortmund University has been researching and teaching at the global intersection between man, nature and technology since its foundation in 1968. To found a lasting international cooperation between the Technical University of Dortmund and Florida Atlantic University is one goal of this visiting scholarship. Such an agreement is designed to give members of both academic institutions – students, professors, other faculty members and the community-at-large, opportunities to benefit personally and professionally from the international experiences and contacts with which the Public Procurement Research Center is championing.
