FAU - Public Procurement Research Center

The PPRC and the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. Partnership

A partnership was reached between the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. (NIGP) and Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs in August 1999. The terms and conditions of the agreement are as follows:

• FAU shall be recognized as NIGP’s primary higher education associate in the area of research and educational programs. In order to ensure continuity within NIGP’s research and educational endeavors, any secondary higher education partnerships initiated by NIGP will be coordinated through FAU during the term of this Memorandum.
• FAU and NIGP agree to create an FAU-NIGP Research Center effective August 1, 1999.
• FAU and NIGP shall jointly support the Center.

PPRC-NIGP Research Center Structure

The Center shall be directed by a public administration faculty member (through a partial appointment in-kind contribution of FAU). In order to warrant a true partnership, the Center director is responsible to a board of directors comprised of three NIGP representatives and three FAU representatives. The board shall meet as warranted, but at minimum activities shall be dictated by available resources and needs of the procurement field.
