Dr. Norman Kaufmann
As Associate Provost for Academic Budget, Norman Kaufman has university-wide responsibilities relating to the planning and budgeting process for academic programs across FAU's multiple, partner campuses and for assisting the Provost in coordinating academic support functions such as university libraries, enrollment management, and institutional effectiveness. He joined Florida Atlantic University in 1995.A native of Brooklyn, New York, Kaufman received a bachelor's degree from Harpur College of the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a MPA and PhD from Syracuse University where he was a Maxwell Fellow. Kaufman is the author of numerous articles related to educational planning and policy development, including the influential analysis of high school graduation and college enrollment patterns, which identified the demographic cycles of "boom and bust" that challenged state policy-makers and university administrators to recognize the shortcomings of enrollment-based funding models.
