Anthony Guneratne researches the role that film, literature and other artistic media play in cultural interactions, as well as the interrelations of written and spoken language, images, and music. A fellow of the Folger Shakespeare Library and FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College, he takes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching film and visual culture. His publications include the edited anthology Rethinking Third Cinema, articles and book chapters on the literature and films of postcoloniality, and contemporary interpretations of history and of Renaissance culture. He is presently completing the book Shakespeare, Film Studies and the Visual Cultures of Modernity.
