Shara Toursh Pavlow is director of the FAU Community Conversation Corps, an AmeriCorps service learning program in which students learn how to be effective change agents and then use that knowledge in real world service to not-for-profit organizations. Her academic work focuses on the role of communication in building resilient communities. She teaches classes on communication and community, public participation, constructive conflict, small group processes, and human communication theory. Dr. Pavlow comes to academia after a long career managing health and social services in the South Florida region. Building on her experiences, she strives to merge theoretical learning with real world application.
