Christine Scodari is a Women’s Studies Associate and teaches and conducts research that navigates among cultural and media studies, television, and gender. Her publications investigate gender, age, romantic fantasy, and/or the relationship between the public and private spheres in popular media and online fan culture. Among the topics and texts considered in her published works are romantic comedy film and television, science fiction television fandom, teen girl fandom, Something’s Gotta Give, The Da Vinci Code, The X-Files and Sex and the City. Among her recent publications is the 2004 book Serial Monogamy: Soap Opera, Lifespan, and the Gendered Politics of Fantasy.
