David Cratis Williams teaches and does research in rhetorical theory and criticism, rhetoric and social change, communication and democratic processes, and argumentation. He has edited seven books, including Unending Conversations: New Writings by and about Kenneth Burke, Argumentation Theory and the Rhetoric of Assent, Contemporary Perspectives on Argumentation, and Discourse, Debate, and Democracy. Williams has published numerous articles and book chapters, including contributions to The Legacy of Kenneth Burke, Advances in the History of Rhetoric, American Communication Journal, Argumentation and Advocacy, and Argumentation. He is also lead editor of Controversia: An International Journal of Debate and Democratic Renewal.
