Dr. Porfiri, a native of South Florida, graduated from Duke University and University of Miami School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of University of Miami, in 1993. Dr. Porfiri was in private practice in Palm Beach County until she happily joined FAU SHS as Associate Director in 2004.

Dr. Diallo is a graduate of the Lausanne University Medical School, Switzerland. He completed a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. He retired from the US Army Medical Corps with the rank of Colonel after 26 years of active duty.

Luba Fry, ARNP, is a graduate of SUNY of Plattsburgh with a BSN. She served as a Captain in the US Army and is a veteran of the Gulf War.  Luba completed graduate school at Sage Graduate School in New York. She practiced as Emergency Department nurse practitioner for over 13 years before joining FAU in 2008.

Deborah Griswold has been a Registered Nurse for more than 30 years. She initially graduated from Lynchburg General School of Nursing with a diploma in nursing. She then acquired her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. She became an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in 1996 and is Board certified as a family nurse practitioner. Before moving to Florida, Debbie was Head Nurse of Surgical ICU for 15 years, then Director of Critical Care and Medical & Surgical Nursing at Centra Health in Virginia. She worked as a nurse practitioner in family practice and community health before joining FAU Student Health Services in 1997.

Susan Dash graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University in Miami Shores in 1985. She worked as a registered nurse on medical/surgical floors, labor and delivery and in the Emergency Room for a total of 21 years. Susan received her Master's of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 and has worked full-time as a Nurse Practitioner in the Student Health Clinic at FAU for over 3 years.

Dr. Ruth McCaffrey, ARNP, is an associate professor at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University and works part time at Student Health Services as a Nurse Practitioner. Ruth received her first nursing degree at Palm Beach Community College. She completed her BSN and MSN at Florida Atlantic University and her doctorate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. McCaffrey is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner and a geriatric nurse practitioner.

Marvis Nelson received her ASN from Palm Beach Community College in 1975. While working in the acute care setting, she earned a BSN from FIU in 1976.  In 1997, she received her MSN in the Nurse Practitioner, Family Health track from Barry University. In 1990, Marvis attended Emory University Regional Training Program and received a Nurse Practitioner Certificate in Ob/Gyn. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) and as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner by NCC (National Certificate Corporation).

R. Claire McCarthy attended Barry University where she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing. She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has practiced in multiple private and institutional settings since 1990. Claire joined the Florida Atlantic University Student Health Services in 2008 when the Davie/Broward Student Health Services Clinic opened.
