SIL Resource Center
The Resource Center is a part of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership and is a centrally located resource center that supports organizations development and the promotional needs of all recognized student organizations at Florida Atlantic University. The Resource Center provides services to assist in marketing organizations events and activities, access to leadership books and resources, and the opportunity for one on one guidance and consulting from staff and fellow students.
Services available for student organizations:
- Access to organization resource library and computers
- Event planning consulting (including assistance with contracts)
- Training for organizations on a variety of topics, including team building, goal-setting, event planning, group dynamics, delegations, meeting management, and fundraising.
- Approval of flyers and advertisements to be hung on campus
- Access to 500 free copies a semester organization resource library and computers
- Request helium for campus events (150 balloons per semester, additional available for a minimal charge)
- Reserve tables on the Breezeway
- Use of promotional design supplies, including colored paper, die cuts, paint. markers, poster board, etc.
- Post announcements on MyFAU
- Get information on CollegiateLink
- Use of button machine and banner paper (100 buttons per semester, 20 poster boards per semester, additional available for a minimal charge)
- Access to SIL handouts with tips for success on recruitment, motivation members, running a meeting, communication, and several other topics
- Request an organization mailbox
- Opportunities to borrow equipment from the Student Government Program Board
- Use of banner space in the Student Union
- Access to Leadership Library books and resources

The SIL Resource Center is located in Room 203 in the Student Union. It offers a wide variety of resources to help a student organization and its members succeed. The SIL Resource Center is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. and 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday.
Service Request forms must be turned in 24 House in advance and forms can be picked up in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, Room 203.
