Leadership Living Learning Community (L3C)
If you are interested in making a difference and becoming a leader in your community, whether or not you have held a leadership role in the past, this is the place for you! Recognize your opportunity to shape yourself as a leader and your community starting with your residence hall, Florida Atlantic University and the world. The Community will familiarize you with the University's values and the opportunities for leadership across campus, and will also offer you opportunities to explore your leadership potential, build your confidence, and give you skills to live a life of leadership. The Leadership Learning Community (LLC) is a wonderfully innovative program that allows students to live in the same building as other students like them who want to be successful and want to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The Leadership Living Learning Community (L3C) is a "freshman academic interest group" centered in:
- exposing students to theoretically based concepts of leadership
- challenging freshmen to be increasingly global-oriented
- stretching students in their development of self and others
- supporting the core purpose of developing leaders of character dedicated to serving the greater good.
- It is open to first year students of all majors at Florida Atlantic University
At the end of the year, L3C residents will:
- Develop a personal sense of belonging and co-construct a collaborative, respectful, and values-driven community of learners.
- Reflect upon and clarify personal values, strengths, goals, and passions.
- Personally conceptualize and apply leadership principles.
- Develop intercultural awareness, understanding, and appreciation that are explored individually and collectively within the community.
- Become aware of opportunities to engage in their FAU and local community in order to turn conviction into action.
