Above: Dr. Ali Farazmand the International Symposium in Istanbul, Turkey, October 12-16, 2011.

Ali Farazmand, Ph.D., Professor of Public Administration, was invited with full funding to deliver a paper, "Shared Governance and Administrative Challenges in Implementation of Agreements on Caspian (Khazar) Sea in the 21st Century," at the International Symposium on "Common Governance Cultures and Restructuring Problems in Three Seas Basin Countries--Caspian Sea, Black Sea, and Mediterranean Sea," Istanbul, Turkey, October 12-16, 2011.  The Symposium/Conference, organized by multiple Turkish academic institutions in support of the government, hosted over 100 scholars, including about 40 public administration scholars from over 28 countries.

Professor Farazmand's presentation was so well received by the audience that the President and the Provost of Aydin University of Istanbul invited him to the president's office for a meeting to explore mutual academic cooperation on research, publications, exchange, and consultation projects.  He hopes that future collaborative projects with Turkish academic institutions will be established.
