(Samara Taylor, Robin Barkes, Cynthia Zhang, Stephanie David, Remi Morgan, Andrea Glover)
The School of Public Administration launched the Florida Atlantic University Collegiate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) this semester in conjunction with the AFP Palm Beach County Chapter. The AFP represents over 30,000 members in more than 200 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. AFP is the premier professional organization for the nonprofit industry. The FAU Collegiate Chapter is only one of four chapters in Florida and the only chapter in South Florida. The program was created in order to educate undergraduate and graduate students about fundraising as a career path and to educate them about philanthropy in general. The FAU Collegiate Chapter offers significant opportunities for advancement including mentoring and networking with local philanthropy professionals, volunteer projects to support non-profit organizations in Palm Beach County, and a Collegiate Certificate in Fundraising. The founding members of the chapter are Robin Barke, Marinelly Castro, Joanna Craver, Isabelle Clerie, Stephanie David, Jessica Demps, Andrea Glover, Jessica Gomez, Patricia Hodge, Remi Morgan, Samara Taylor, and Cynthia Zhang. The FAU Collegiate Chapter is open to all students interested in becoming part this professional group of rising nonprofit leaders.
