You are invited to participate in the Field Instructor’s Supervisor’s Training sponsored by the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) School of Social Work. This training is required for all Field Instructors for the School of Social Work at FAU. We encourage you to attend if you have not previously attended the field instructor’s training provided by FAU. We also honor training offered by Barry University, Florida International University, and Florida State University.

Please note that the training has been expanded to two full days (or 16 hours). An agenda is forthcoming and will provide further information on topics to be covered by the training. The workshop is free to all field supervisors for FAU social work students. This training qualifies for the social work supervisor’s training required for Florida licensure. 16 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be provided (provider # BAP 176).

This seminar provides the field instructors with an opportunity to meet the faculty at Florida Atlantic University as well as to learn about your role as a Field Instructor for FAU. This should also prove to be a good opportunity to network with other community social workers serving as field instructors for FAU.

Space is limited to 50 participants so reserve your space early.

Guatemalan Project - You can help

Dr. Campoverde has been involved with international community development in a town in Guatemala - showing that you can be a great professor and a great social worker (practice what you preach). For more information on this project, please go to www.guatemalanproject.com and read the various Reports from Guatemala.

Dr. Campoverde's project will be sending a container to Guatemala at the end of this month. On October 25 and 26 we will be accepting donations of goods i.e., clothes, TVs, school supplies, etc. You can bring your donations to the loading site located in back of the FAU gym (past PBCC, past the FAU Security Office. Just continue on that street until Building T3. Make a left). We will be there on that large runway space. Thank you for your support.

Kudos to FAU's own Cheryl Moody, ACSW, for being awareded as "a person that is outstanding in the lives of children... a person that is loving, playful, attentive, young at heart..." - by the Association for Community Counseling, who awarded Cheryl with their Play Award for 2003.
