University Center for Excellence in Writing
The University Center for Excellence in Writing (UCEW) is now accepting applications from graduate students interested in serving as consultants who support and promote writing within the FAU community. Consultants will be trained and will receive internationally recognized tutoring certification from the College Reading & Learning Association and the International Writing Centers Association. Consulting duties vary from session to session. Generally speaking, though, consultants provide writing assistance, not editing services. Full-time Graduate students hired as consultants sign a one-year contract for ten hours per week in the UCEW. You will also qualify for a 40% tuition remission and receive a graduate stipend of $4500 for the year. We also can hire part time graduate students at $14.60 an hour.
Interested graduate students may download the attached application at www.fau.edu/UCEW and select “Become a consultant.” Please submit a complete application as soon as possible via email to Professor Jeffrey Galin at email@example.com. Our first staff meeting will be August 21st at 10:00 am in SO 105. We will accept applications until all positions are filled, but those who submit by August 15th will have first priority. We have availability at four of our UCEW locations, on our Boca and Davie campus sites. You may contact Dr. Galin if you have questions at 7-1221 or send email.
