Nori Carter – Director of Weppner Center for Civic Engagement & Service

Nori Carter serves as the Director for the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement & Service at Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Carter received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications—Advertising from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University.

Over the course of Ms. Carter’s career, she has worked for numerous corporations with the last four years in Higher Education as an adjunct instructor, as a staff member of FAU’s Broward Student Wellness Center, and in her current position. Volunteering has always been a part of her life making her job rewarding!

Jheanelle Shepherd

Jheanelle Shepherd is the Coordinator of the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service at Florida Atlantic University. She began working at FAU in 2008 as a student assistant in the Student Union. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from FAU. After graduating, she dedicated a year of service to FAU as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service. Jheanelle is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership and plans to continue her studies for a Ph.D. When she is not coordinating volunteer opportunities for FAU students, she may be found volunteering on her own and spending time with her family and friends.

Maggie Wilson

Maggie earned a BA in Neuroscience and Medicine, Health & Society from Vanderbilt University and is currently completing a year of national service through the Florida Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA program. During her time as an undergrad, Maggie was involved with a variety of service projects, from interpreting for Spanish-speaking patients in a medical clinic to leading Alternative Spring Break trips in Guatemala and Arizona. Though she will miss Vanderbilt, Maggie is excited to be living in South Florida and joining the FAU community this year!

Christopher White

Mr. Christopher White is currently serving as the Graduate Assistant for the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service.  Christopher graduated from Florida Atlantic University earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science.  Chris is a self-driven and a highly motivated person who values the importance of an education. In his undergraduate, at Florida Atlantic University he was a student-athlete and also a summer counselor at the Boys and Girls Club. As a future leader in education, Chris feels civic engagement plays a pivotal role in the development of an individual and also for the progress of the community.     

Chris is currently working on earning a Master’s Degree in Higher Education here at Florida Atlantic University.  He plans to one day become a Vice President of Student Affairs

Megan Hamerdinger

Currently, Megan is working on earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, including a minor in Spanish here at Florida Atlantic University.  Her long term goal is to work with children with cancer. She is involved in many volunteering activities on campus. Besides being an active member of SAVI and the WCCES, she is involved with Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society and Up ‘til Dawn benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Off campus, Megan volunteers at Camp Boggy Creek as a summer camp counselor for children with Chronic and Life Threatening Illnesses and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Frédérique Fragé – Associate Director, Student Involvement and Leadership

Ms. Frédérique Fragé is currently the Associate Director of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at Florida Atlantic University's (FAU) Broward Campuses. Ms. Fragé received a Bachelor's Degree in History at the University of Florida and a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs from Florida Atlantic University. 

Ms. Fragé has worked in the field of Student Affairs since 2006. Prior to her current position she served in the FAU Offices of Multicultural Affairs and International Students and Scholar Services as the Designated School Official (DSO).

In addition to her duties with the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, she is the primary liaison to the Broward Campuses for the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service, and supervises the coordination of activities and programs for the students of the FAU Broward Campuses. GO OWLS!
