Cultural Calendar 2011-2012

Each year we combine many of the events at Georgia College into a cultural calendar. It's a way to help define learning outside the classroom, an ideal we stress at Georgia College. As Georgia's public liberal arts university, education is about connecting students with something more than just classrooms. Our mission certainly includes excellent academic instruction, but it also involves close interaction with professors and fellow students, community service, research, symposiums, art and theatre and music... and the list goes on.

We invite you to experience Georgia College through a wide listing of cultural events. Many of them are free and all of the events listed in this section of the website are open to the public. Liberal Arts is artes liberales in Latin. It means education and training for a free people. At Georgia College, liberal arts is about connecting your education with something more - a well-informed experience at college, close interaction with professors and fellow students, community service, and ultimately to a successful career, one that gives you the vibrancy and flexibility to be a leader in your chosen field.
