EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative

2012 Annual Meeting

On February 13 - 15, GPC will be hosting online sessions with members of the Academic Computing Group at EDUCAUSE 2011 Online,a virtual conference for IT professionals in higher education that explores the key issues impacting our institutions today, from dealing with reduced IT budgets and understanding emerging technologies to the role that IT can play in developing collaborative, transformative learning environments.
The 2012 Annual Meeting will explore a rich matrix of themes that capture the key opportunities and challenges facing the teaching and learning community. Just within the space of the past year, open educational content and the ubiquity of even smarter mobile devices have shifted the teaching and learning landscape and the way we think about what constitutes learning environments. Increased reliance on cloud-based resources has created new opportunities for innovation but also presented us with important policy and privacy issues. There is new emphasis on evaluation, learning effectiveness, and accountability.
Our on-campus team will be watching the presentations as a group and interacting with fellow participants through chat and discussion boards, helping us drive home key ideas and laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
By participating with the team, you’ll have an opportunity to meet

new colleagues, learn about projects already under way on campus, and begin building connections that will last beyond the event.

Our campus team will be participating on the Clarkston campus. See list of dates and time below. The event is open to GPC's Students, Faculty, and Staff.  No reservation is needed. It is a first-come first-serve event.
