"What is LIGHTHOUSE?"

LIGHTHOUSE is the new way for students to register for classes at Gulf Coast State College that replaces OASIS. To prepare for the May 2012 launch of LIGHTHOUSE, take some time to review the information found on this website.

Familiarize yourself with the new method of registration through the Steps to Using LIGHTHOUSE.  If you find that you need help, be sure to consult the FAQs.

LIGHTHOUSE Quick Fact:

Please remember that Fall course registration begins on Thursday, May 10 at 8 am.

Beginning Monday, May 7 at 8 am, you can sign on to Lighthouse and set up security questions.

LIGHTHOUSE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If you are a continuing student, your current OASIS ID can be used during this transition for Fall 2012 ONLY.
  2. To use your OASIS ID, enter in the 8 digits in the ID box.
  3. Your INITIAL PIN will be your date of birth in the format of MMDDYY - dashes are not acceptable.

AFTER YOU LOGIN...

  1. You will be prompted to change your PIN immediately. Your 'old' PIN is your date of birth in the format of MMDDYY.
  2. Your new PIN can be a combination of numbers and letters up to 16 characters long.
  3. You will be prompted to create a security question/answer - this WILL BE USED to verify your identity in the event you forget your pin and cannot recover it.
  4. We WILL ask you your security answer, so make certain it is something you will (a) remember and (b) want to say over the phone to the HELP DESK.

ONCE YOU CHANGE YOUR PIN AND CREATE YOUR SECURITY QUESTION

There are two key number codes you should know for registration:

LIGHTHOUSE ID - Under the new LIGHTHOUSE system, all students are given a LIGHTHOUSE ID number. This LIGHTHOUSE ID will become your official GCSC Student ID.

Registration Pin - For Fall 2012 course registration, students will use their 6 digit pin which will be a default of your birthdate (MMDDYY).
