Hamilton County Job and Family Services
Hamilton County Job and Family Services has served Hamilton County since 1947. Each year, the department administers state, federal and local programs designed to help those in need. The approximately 780 employees that work for the agency serve hundreds of thousands of Hamilton County residents each year.
The department is one of the few quadruple-combined public human services agencies in Ohio - providing public assistance, children's services, child support and workforce development programs to the community.
Among the department's many duties: local child protection, adult protection, child care, child support enforcement, workforce development, cash assistance, food assistance and Medicaid assistance.
Since 2007, HCJFS has been led by Agency Director Moira Weir. HCJFS is the largest department within Hamilton County government and report to the Board of Hamilton County Commissioners.
Hamilton County Job and Family Services Planning Committee serves as an advisory body to the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners with regard to the full continuum of family, employment and social services which are locally developed to meet local needs and state and federal law. Hamilton County Job and Family Services is accredited by the Council on Accreditation, an international, independent, not-for-profit child and family service accrediting organizaiton.

Hamilton County Job and Family Services serves hundreds of thousands of residents each year. In 2010:
One in three Hamilton County residents was involved in a Child Support case
One in six residents was covered by Medicaid
One in six residents received food assistance
One in 13 children was involved with Children's Services
One in 13 children received child care assistance through a public payment voucher
One in 30 residents participated in a Workforce Development program
One in 34 residents received cash assistance
One in 202 elderly residents were involved with Adult Protective Services
Location and Hours of Operation
Hamilton County Job and Family Services is located in downtown Cincinnati at 222 E. Central Parkway. The hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except on major holidays. Directions and parking information are available here.
