Child Care Changes - October 2011

Here is the most important new information:

• Please note: The Child Care lobby at 222 E. Central Parkway is now open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Child Care Services

HCJFS Child Care Services covers part of the cost of child care for eligible low and moderate-income families. Parents choose from home providers and centers that have provider agreements with ODJFS.

Homes and centers are certified by Hamilton County or are licensed by the state. This ensures that they meet health, safety and training standards. HCJFS inspects certified homes at least twice a year.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility for child care is based on gross income and family size. Parents must be working or in an approved work activity. Children must be under the age of 13 or if they have special needs under the age of 18. Other eligibility factors determine the amount of the subsidy.
