Parents

There are only two lasting bequests we can give our children. One of these is roots. The other, wings.

Hodding Carter, Sr.

Get an education you and your children can value.
Get ready to let them fly.
Get the edge.

Where will your son or daughter begin their path of education?

  • Q: When can we visit the campus?

A: Schedule a campus visit, or come to one of our information nights for high school students.

  • Q: How will I pay for college?

A: Heartland students value their education — great classes with affordable tuition. Find out if financial aid also is available for your son or daughter.

  • Q: If my son or daughter is applying for financial aid, what financial information is needed from me?

A: If your child was a dependant of yours over the last year and you claimed the child on your taxes, some of your information will be needed to apply for financial aid.

  • Q: Can my son or daughter apply for scholarships?

A: Heartland Community College does have financial aid available, including scholarships and grants. Students will need to apply for financial aid.

  • Q: Can I receive information about my child's grades, schedule, test scores, etc.?

A: HCC is not permitted under federal law through the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to provide this information to anyone other than the student. However, the student can fill out a release of information form in-person, allowing Heartland to release certain information to the approved third party. Please refer to the Heartland Community College catalog for more information.

  • Q: How can I ensure that my student will be charged in-district tuition rates?

A: Students must meet certain criteria and present valid documentation to be considered residents of Heartland's District 540. Learn more about how to qualify for in-district tuition rates.

  • Q: What if I have more questions?

A: HCC wants to answer all your questions. Email your questions to Recruitment and Admissions or call 309-268-8059.
