Enroll as a Visiting Student (enroll in classes to transfer back to a four-year college)

As a current college student enrolling in classes, you should check with your college or university to ensure the classes you take at Heartland meet the transfer requirements at your home school. Documentation of prerequisites is required to enroll in classes at HCC. As a visiting student, you should bring a transcript or progress summary from your college or university when meeting with an HCC academic advisor.

Complete the following steps to enroll as a visiting student:

To start:

  1. Submit HCC application.
  2. Confirm your residency in District 540.
  3. Obtain a copy of your current university transcript or progress summary. This will be reviewed by an Academic Advisor prior to your appointment.
  4. Secure funding for college.

Next steps:

  1. Contact an Academic Advisor in person or via email. (The Academic Advisor will need to clear you to enroll online.)
  2. Using the login name and ID number provided in your acceptance letter, set up your myHeartland account.
  3. Build your class schedule.
  4. Register for classes through myHeartland.

Last, but not least:

  1. Obtain your HCC student photo ID.
  2. Pay tuition/fees by the deadline.
  3. Activate your refund preference after you have received your Heartland OneCard.

Special arrangements are available for students with disabilities.
