Application Information and Process

IMPORTANT NOTICE: UAB is pleased to offer an online application system for all candidates who wish to apply for a job vacancy at the University. If you do not have easy access to a computer from which to apply you may use one of the UAB Recruitment Services computer kiosks provided in the UAB Administration Building , Room 110, 701 20th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama.

A UAB Application with a Specific Job Title and Number Must be Submitted When Applying for a Position Vacancy. Applications will be Considered Only for Current Job Vacancies.

Jobs are posted for a minimum of 3 days. You may apply for up to 20 days within a 30 day period. All jobs posted are open for application.

We ask that you thoroughly and accurately complete all requested information during the online application process. Incomplete profiles and/or applicationasmay not be given full consideration. Please be aware that submissions under the employer/experience section of the application marked "See Resume" are considered incomplete.

Only paid experience is considered when your application is reviewed by our professional recruitment staff. Part-time experience is calculated based on actual hours worked.

Applicants who meet posted criteria may be interviewed by an Recruitment Services recruiter. After a succesful interview with Recruitment Services, candidates may be referred to the hiring department for further review and consideration.

Office Hours and Parking
The UAB Recruitment Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Courtesy visitor parking is available on the first and second floors of Administration Building parking deck. The entrance to the parking deck is located on 20th Street South. There is a limited clearance height to enter the parking deck. Duration is restricted to one hour, and parking spaces are limited. Applicants with appointments may wish to allow sufficient time to find other sources for parking. The Recruitment Services does not validate visitor parking.

Faculty Application Process
Faculty hiring is accomplished within each academic unit. Applicants for faculty positions should submit their curriculum vitae with transmittal letter directly to the department chairperson or to the dean's office corresponding to their academic discipline.
