Undergraduate Programs

Hunter College has two undergraduate teacher education programs.
QUEST is for students who wish to become childhood teachers (grades 1-6). 

ADOLESCENT EDUCATION is for students who wish to become middle or high school teachers of a particular subject (grades 7-12).

PRE K - 12 PROGRAMS - The Dance Education program is for students who wish to become dance teachers in grades pre K to 12.

Both programs require that students apply after they have been accepted to Hunter. The application process involves a paper application, a writing sample and an interview.  Students must apply by November 1 for the spring term and by April 1 for the fall term. Applications are available in the School of Education, Room 1000 West.

Graduate Programs

The School of Education offers more than two dozen programs to prepare teachers for a variety of assignments in the schools. Each is aimed at earning certification in the appropriate field as defined by the New York State department of Education. All of the programs are approved by the state and may are accredited by national organizations. Click a program from the list to the left to learn more.
