Failure to Report
Jurors who fail to report as summoned are subject to a $500 fine or may be punished for contempt of court.

Smoking Policy
The courthouse is a non-smoking facility. You may smoke outside the main entrance. If you do so, please inform jury staff so that we are aware of your location at all times.
Employment Protection
N.J.S.A . 2B:20-17 protects jurors from employment related retaliation. There are criminal and civil sanctions.
Jury service will not affect your unemployment benefits.

Term of Service
Petit jurors serve for one day or the duration of one trial. You must call the recorded message number or check the website after 5:00 p.m. the evening prior to your service to see if you must report. If you are selected during jury selection to sit as a trial juror, you must remain for the duration of the jury selection and the trial. Once your service is completed, you may ask to be excused if summoned within three years.
