Global Education Scholarships
The following are non-CAED scholarships, available to all students studying abroad in Summer 2013 and in the 2013-2014 academic year:
Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship
For students studying abroad in Summer or Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Applicant must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad.
CAED Global Education Scholarships
These scholarships are available to Kent State University CAED 3rd year undergraduate and graduate students participating in CAED global education programs:
CAED Spring Florence Program Scholarships
Various scholarships are offered to CAED students planning to go to Italy during the spring semester with the Florence Program. Applications and procedures will be distributed and reviewed at the start of the fall semester, during the meetings in preparation for the following spring program.
Examples of spring 2013 CAED Florence program scholarships included:
For INTERIOR DESIGN students (B.A. in I.D.):
- The James and Tara Wenger Family Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a third year interior design student for the Florence study abroad semester. This scholarship is made possible by the generosity of James and Tara Wenger.
For ARCHITECTURE students (B.S. in ARCH):
- Class of 1980 “Kaufmania goes to Europe” Scholarship
The Class of 1980 has endowed The “Kaufmania goes to Europe” scholarship for students wishing to participate in the Florence Program. The scholarship is based on demonstrated financial need.
- The Professor Joseph Schidlowski Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student for undergraduate study in Florence, Italy. The scholarship is intended to honor a student with demonstrated excellence in design and demonstrates financial need. This endowment is made possible by the generosity of Bob Cene, Jr., Class of 1980.
- studio9one2 Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a third year architecture student for the Florence study semester on the basis of demonstrated community service. This scholarship is made possible by the generosity of alum Pat Killen.
- The Michael Domokur Florence Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a third year architecture student enrolled full time, for the Florence study abroad semester. This scholarship is made possible by alum Michael Domokur.
