, is the director of public relations and marketing communications for the College of Communication and Information at Kent State University. She has 15 years of experience in corporate, agency and nonprofit public relations and event planning. Specializing in nonprofit public relations and project management, she has worked on award-winning projects promoting the YouToo Social Media Conference, Kent State University, This City Reads and Project Learn of Summit County. She has worked on many cross-promotional campaigns with organizations such as Akron-Summit County Public Library, Cleveland Cavaliers Read to Achieve Program, Borders Books & Music, Starbucks, Target, Akron Public Schools, Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, University Park Alliance, United Way of Summit County and Akron General Medical Center.
She opened Kramer Integrated Communications, LLC, in January 2007 after a year hiatus to grow her family through international adoption. She has worked with numerous clients including Cleveland's Got Sole, Kent State University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Barberton-Norton Mosquito Abatement District, Hattie Larlham, Project Learn of Summit County, Project GRAD, Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools and Pace & Associates Graphic Designers.She now leads a team of nine in marketing communications, public relations and graphic design at Kent State.
is a sophomore majoring in public relations in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She began her college education at The University of Akron, transferring to Kent State after her first semester. She resides in Tri-Towers.
The Medina resident is taking full advantage of her college opportunities. Erica is involved in many campus organizations including the Public Relations Student Society of America, the Golden Key International Honour Society and the Chi Omega Sorority. She also works at the university as a campus tour guide, a registration assistant for Destination Kent State, a marketing assistant for TeleProductions and is a member of the CCI Marketing Council. She also enjoys volunteering with the Newman Center.
Erica comes from a family of public relations people with ties to Kent State. Her father is a public relations practitioner who received his Master of Arts in journalism with a concentration in public relations from Kent State in 2012. Her brother is also majoring in public relations at Kent State, where he serves as TV2's weather director.
, known by her friends as Catie, grew up in Chardon, a small town about an hour north of Kent State. As a child, Catie loved to play outside with her friends and was very involved in tennis and basketball.
As she got older, she found her love for the media industry. In high school, Catie went to Auburn Career Center for Interactive Multimedia Technology where she learned about everything from communication to video editing. When she came to Kent State she found that videography was not her calling and decided to look into the communication field. After one class, she fell in love. She has since become an applied communication major with a minor in organizational communication in the School of Communication Studies.
Catie is also very involved in her co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega (APO). This will be her sixth semester in the fraternity, and she has held positions such as Fellowship Chair, Leadership Chair and Fundraising Chair. She greatly enjoys her time in APO where she is always doing service for the campus or the nation. Being in the fraternity has taught her a lot about herself as well as how to communicate with all types of people.After she graduates in May, Catie hopes to find a job in the marketing or public relations industry. She hopes to move to San Francisco to secure a job at United Airlines or Pixar. Catie’s advice to all students, young and young at heart, is to always follow their dreams because if they do they will never work a day in their lives.
is a sophomore public relations major hoping to minor in both business and theatre management. She has worked as a public relations and marketing assistant in the CCI Dean’s Office since January 2012. She also maintains the social media presence of her alma mater, Our Lady of the Elms. Caprez previously interned as a communications assistant at the Akron Civic Theatre, and she was the performing arts reporter for the Summer Kent Stater. One day, she hopes to be a public relations practitioner for a major theatre company. In the meantime, Caprez plans on spending a semester in Orlando, Florida, participating in the Disney College Program. Caprez will focus on JMC-related projects and stories, specializing in the creation of short videos for the CCI Youtube account.
is a journalism and mass communication graduate student working on her Master of Arts in media management. She earned her Bachelor of Science in public relations from Kent State in 2012. This is Gennarelli’s third year working in the Dean’s Office, and she loves the hands-on PR experience she can apply to her future career. She hopes to enter the public relations agency world after graduation in May 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family and indulging in reality television. Gennarelli will focus on SLIS and CCI-related projects.
is a graduate student majoring in public relations in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She completed her first semester at Kent State in the Teaching English as a Second Language program before transferring to the PR program in fall 2012.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and has experience as an English teacher and translator which gives her mastery of English and Chinese.
She was appointed as an interpreter for the International Emergency Management Society 17th Annual Conference held in Beijing in 2010. Additionally, she was appointed as the spokesperson for the China Social Welfare Education Foundation. In 2009, the Foundation awarded her the title of “Ambassador for Peace” for her contribution to all the charitable events.
“All of these meaningful experiences shaped my personality, language skills, adaptability, and ability to think on my feet, and ultimately gave me a more confident public face,” Dong said.Now, besides working as a marketing assistant in CCI, she is a teaching assistant in the ESL center.
is a senior, majoring in photo illustration with a minor in photojournalism. At Kent State, she studied photography abroad in Turkey and Greece in 2011 and in India in 2012. She worked as a choreographer and the Senior Still Photography and Graphic Design Manager with KSU Independent Films on ‘Research: The Musical’ in 2011. Before coming to Kent State, Yoho was a store manager, assistant manager and keyholder for Family Video from 2003 to 2009. At Kent State, Yoho worked for Design Solutions during fall semester 2010 and currently works as a photographer and graphic designer with the marketing team for the College of Communication and Information. She is also the administrative assistant to David LaBelle, director of the photojournalism department, and has served as photo editor for Jargon Magazine for the past two issues. She graduated high school from Yoho Christian Academy in 2002 and plans to earn her bachelor’s degree from Kent State in 2013. Yoho, 28, lives in Cuyahoga Falls with her parents and two brothers. In her spare time, she goes Lindy Hopping and makes cross-stitch designs. Yoho will focus on graphic design and VCD-related projects.
