Division of Business & Finance
The people in the Division of Business and Finance, in exercising their responsibility and authority as representatives of Kent State University, provide quality service and accountability in support of the university mission. In order to achieve quality in their performance, they strive for continuous improvement in all that is done, plan and commit to accomplish targets annually, and are empowered to perform their duties. The values and beliefs espoused by the division are based on the principles of respect, integrity, service and commitment.
The division also manages several auxiliary enterprises. The following areas report to the vice president for finance and administration:
Facilities Planning and Operations
Includes the Departments of the Office of the University Architect, University Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability.
University Budget and Financial Analysis
Coordinates the development of the operating budget for unrestricted E&G and auxiliary funds, monitors the budget and processes budget revisions.
Financial Reporting and Cash Management
Provides accountable business functions and business information support services such as the Controller's Office, which includes Grants Accounting, Accounts Receiving, Accounts Payable, and Financial Accounting; responsibility for the fiscal management of Athletics; and Treasury, Tax and Investments.
Public Safety
Committed to providing a safe and secure campus environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors through the proficient and efficient delivery of Police, Fire Prevention, Transportation and Parking Services.
Business & Administration Services
Provides accountable business functions and business information support services such as the Bursar's Office, Procurement, Risk Management & Real Estate, Payroll, and Mail Services.
Internal Audit
Examines and evaluates Kent State University's activities and serves as the liaison between the university and the university's independent public accountant.
Business Administrator Services Forum
Business Administrator Services Forum promotes cooperation and communication between central administrative financial offices and the many and varied decentralized business office functions across Kent State University.
