About Business and Finance:
Gregg S. Floyd began as Kent State University’s vice president for finance and administration on Sept. 15, 2008.Floyd has been vice president for business affairs and finance, as well as university treasurer at Indiana State University from 2002 until July 2008. Before joining Indiana State, Floyd was the assistant vice chancellor and director of business affairs at Indiana University from 1984 to 2002.
"Gregg Floyd brings a range of expertise, experience and intellect to this important position," Dr. Lefton says. "The position of vice president for finance and administration goes beyond budgeting as it is vital to ensuring we are using our resources to the highest efficiency in our academic and research pursuits.
"He has a solid understanding of the sensitivity and complexity of our new responsibility centered management budgeting strategy and he brings a consultive, collegial approach to the university,” Lefton says. “I thank the search committee for their effort to identify three superb candidates."
Yank Heisler, special assistant to the president, who served as interim vice president after the departure of Dr. David Creamer, said Floyd's experience assures a smooth transition.
"Gregg Floyd will make an outstanding contribution to Kent State," Heisler says. "He is an individual with great knowledge of the workings of university finances."
Floyd earned his juris doctorate, masters in business administration and bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Indiana Bar Association.
