The May 4 visitors center will be located in 101 Taylor Hall, steps away from the May 4 Memorial and Ohio Historical Marker and overlooking the University Commons, where students gathered for the May 4 rally.

The May 4 visitors center space is the former office of the student newspaper, the Daily Kent Stater. The work of student journalists on May 4, 1970--especially their photographs--provides an invaluable record of the events of that day. The photos became important evidence in the 10-year-long legal aftermath that included a landmark civil rights decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. The photos provide a moment-by-moment account of the day the war came home.
