Horticulture Student Intern Internship Position: To be determined.
Objective: To expose the student to the many facets of public horticulture and estate gardens.
Description: Draime Estate Gardens is a 9.5 acre private estate in Warren, Ohio, consisting of a collection of gardens, lawns, water features, sculptures, follies, and terraces. Specific garden areas include the Japanese, orchestral, conifer, walled, rose, vegetable, chapel, and perennial gardens. The estate gardens and grounds are available to select groups for educational, social, and cultural events. Groups include but are not limited to students, garden clubs, art groups, and civic organizations.
Work Schedule: Intern works up to 28 hours per week. May through August. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
Duties: To be determined.
Prerequisites: Must be a Kent State University student in good standing; must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions as well as indoors in an office setting; must be willing to perform physical tasks on occasion such as setting up tables, chairs, displays, etc.; must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
