Academic Quality Improvement Program (HLC/NCA)

The Steps in the AQIP cycle include:

(1) Strategy Forum

This cycle repeats every four years, and the Higher Learning Commission formally re-affirms the institution's accredited status every seven years. Each institution's participation in AQIP is reviewed annually.  An institution may return to the standard reaccreditation process at any time but if doing so, must prepare for a complete institutional review within 2 years.

(3)  Current Systems Portfolio

Fall 2009 Systems Portfolio:  Every four years, Kent State University's Academic Quality Improvement Program, or AQIP, undergoes a Systems Appraisal to reaffirm its accreditation.  The Systems Appraisal is an opportunity to get expert, objective, and third party feedback on the university's strengths and opportunities for improvement. 

Kent State University's first Systems Appraisal took place during the 2005 academic year.  The time period reviewed was fall 2001 to spring 2005.
